Understanding 33 Lock Access Automation Software Partners

A Simple Guide to Access Control Automation Partners

33 Lock works with access control automation partners to help properties fully automate guest access. These partners connect your Property Management System (PMS) to 33 Lock, ensuring access is issued automatically at check-in and removed at check-out—without manual lock programming.

This guide explains how access control automation works, using the numbered flow shown in the diagram below:

1. Property Management System (PMS)

On the left side of the diagram (1) is the Property Management System (PMS). This is where reservations, guest details, and stay dates are created and managed.

The PMS is the system of record for:

  • Guest names and contact details
  • Arrival and departure dates
  • Room assignments
  • Reservation updates and cancellations
  • Room assignments

On its own, a PMS does not control door locks. To automate access, this reservation data must be shared with another system.

2. Automation Partner

In the center of the diagram (2) is the access control automation partner. This partner acts as middleware between the PMS and 33 Lock.

The automation partner:

  • Captures guest and reservation data from the PMS
  • Translates that data into access rules
  • Automatically programs PIN codes, mobile keys and other credentials, activating the key at the scheduled check-in time and automatically removed at check-out

Each partner offers different complementary capabilities beyond access control, which may include guest messaging and automated communications, housekeeping and task management, AI agents or virtual assistants, and upsell tools.

3. 33 Lock Smart Locks

On the right side of the diagram (3) is 33 Lock. This includes the smart locks installed on guest and common area doors and the TTLock access control platform that manages them.

When access is programmed by the automation partner:

  • PIN codes or mobile keys are automatically programmed on your
  • Access is restricted to the correct door(s) and stay duration

Because access rules are tied directly to PMS data, changes such as early arrivals, late check-outs, or cancellations can be handled automatically.

Why Automation Partners Matter

For hotels, motels, and resorts, access control automation partners help:

  • Eliminate manual lock programming
  • Reduce front desk workload
  • Support contactless and late check-in experiences
  • Prevent access errors caused by manual setup
  • Ensure access always matches reservation dates

Automation is especially valuable for properties with high guest turnover, limited front desk hours, or multiple buildings.
